Our purpose

‌The long-term goal of the Loyola University Chicago Institute of Public Health is to reduce the global burden of preventable disease, improve international health, and decrease health disparities arising from racial, ethnic, socio-economic, gender, environmental or other factors.  This goal will be addressed through the training of professionals and leaders who are focused on the health of human populations, and through public health research, practice and advocacy.

The Founding Director of the Institute of Public Health, Dr. Amy Luke, works to connect Loyola's integrated academic public health program to a wide range of local and international organizations and initiatives.
