MARK YOUR CALENDAR for June 21, 2019 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM and join us for Loyola’s Health EQ IPE Workgroup end-of-year forum.

Keynote Speaker Dr. Teri Browne, Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina College of Social Work, will share lessons learned regarding creating and spreading IPE across professional schools and give applicable knowledge for stimulating new and expansive thinking about interprofessional education. With faculty collaboration from the Schools of Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Law, and Medicine, this forum serves as an opportunity to discuss IPE at Loyola University. It is designed to share ideas and projects, encourage multi-school collaboration, and consider the future progress of interprofessional education at Loyola. Lunch will be served.

Annual School-Based Health Center Health Fair March 27-28, 2019 at Proviso East High School

Please join Loyola University students, faculty and community organizations  in a two day Health Fair that reaches more than 1800 youth in the Maywood community. 


Poverty Simulation: November 3 and Nov 7 2018

   During this three-hour simulation, participants will role-play the lives of families living in poverty    and the many community agencies with which they must interact. Two sessions will be held:

    Loyola Lakeshore Campus on Wednesday, Nov 7, 2018, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rambler Room, 1st floor, Centennial Forum building

    Health Sciences Campus in Maywood on Sat, Nov 3, 9 a.m. -12 p.m. in the Cuneo Center/Stritch    atrium.

Collaborating Across Borders (CAB) is a premier Canada-United States joint conference focusing on an exploration of common issues around interprofessional education (IPE) and practice (IPP).


Nursing Outcomes Speaker: October 2 and 3, 2017

Dr. Sandy Middleton, a nursing researcher from Australian Catholic University, at Loyola campuses. Dr. Middleton's work is focused on evidence-based practice and nursing outcomes, particularly in the stroke patient population. She will give three presentations, all titled Nurse initiated protocols save lives: The Quality in Acute Stroke Trial, for our faculty and students:


Daniel Swatrzman Public Health Ethics Lecture: Wednesday October 4, 2017

The inaugural Daniel Swatrzman Public Health Ethics Lecture will take place on Weds, Oct 4. The lecture is named for and honors Daniel Swartzman, JD as Emeritus Professor of Health Policy & Administration at the UIC School of Public Health.


Workshop - Resilience and Collaboration Through Graphic Medicine | Friday April 21, 2017| 8:00 AM ‌- 1 PM|

Facilitator: M.K. Czerwiec, AKA Comic Nurse | Quiet Study Room, Marcella Neihoff School of Medicine | Explore how the growing field of graphic medicine can help promote interprofessional communication within both patient care and educational settings.
This will be a hands-on workshop in which participants will have the opportunity to engage with graphic medicine exercises. This workshop was led by MK Czerwiec, who has been making comics under the pseudonym Comic Nurse since 2000 and is a leader in the graphic medicine field. More information: click here
